New website online!

You might have seen some activity on my social media accounts this morning (I forgot to switch a few buttons). Other than that I “WordPressed” my way around a new, professional site.

I renewed my Portfolio, and added a couple of buttons that can help you find what you’re looking for a bit easier. If you’re looking for some new inspiration, you can get inspired, if you’re looking fore some tips & tricks that expand your knowledge on film and video you can do so and if you want to know more about my experiences with film and creativity, than even that’s possible.

I’m currently translating everything to English because I also want to inspire and help people who don’t speak Dutch (oh how pretentious!) and I believe that most Dutch people know English well enough.

Please look around and if you have any questions you can contact me through your preferred medium by way of my Contact page.

But this isn’t only interesting for photographers. Videographers can also learn something from it and use it in moving images by moving the camera along a certain line, when framing or by finding a certain contrast. Lees verder

5 documentary tips from the makers of ‘Citizenfour’

Scroll down for Dutch // Scroll naar beneden voor Nederlands

Citizenfour won the Oscar for best documentary last week. Pretty notable, because it’s about whistleblower Edward Snowden; a guy that leaked classified information from the NSA to the media and is condemned for it. However he has fled abroad before he set the information free so that the US can’t hurt him.

A movie about this so called parricide won an Academy Award. And on top of that Laura Poitras took it a step further with her acceptance speech by beside thanking Edward Snowden also thanking  all other whistleblowers. Something a lot of Patriots probably didn’t like to hear.

But Laura Poitras & journalist Glenn Greenwald also had given some good advice. Advice for other filmmakers.

Oscars 2015

Since 2014 I joined the tradition of watching the Oscars with so many others. In The Netherlands, so it’s always a challenge staying awake, but that’s a different story. With the people I watch we make a small competition of it by voting beforehand and finding out who was right about the most Oscar winners. Of course, I find that only the people who stayed awake for the whole show can win.
